Week in Preview: August 5th-August 12th, 2012

We're excited to be hitting another VBS this week, in addition to getting ready to start our educational year.  We start the 3rd week of August, so our summer is almost over! My Singapore Math box arrives from UPS on Tuesday and then the fun really starts ;)

For those of you who aren't already lesson planning away, here's a few highlights from this week's calendar.  Don't forget that you can find the entire calendar by clicking the link at the top of the page.  While you're there, feel free to add your kid-friendly events in Prince William County by clicking on "Propose an Event".

Monday
From 1:30-3:30pm, head to Bull Run Regional Library to get a free back-to-school vision screening from the folks at Target.  These free screenings are a great way to make sure your kid can see the blackboard and not miss a beat this school year!
From 6:30-7:30pm, Prince William Ice Center (Dale Blvd, Woodbridge VA) will be hosting a parents info session for Prince William Hockey Club.  Email outreach@pwhockey.com

Looking for an evening event? There's a movie in Costello Park in Manassas and a Quad Concert at the Lorton Workhouse!! Pack your bugspray and your blanket and have fun!! (PS- for those of you that have asked if I can tell the outdoor movie people to start earlier, I could tell them that, but they'd tell me the projection won't be clear until it's dark)
