In honor of Armed forces day this Saturday, military families will be able to obtain FREE America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreation Lands Annual Pass, an $80 value. Here in Prince William County, we have numerous military families serving any branch at the Pentagon, the Marine Corps Base Quantico, the Army's Ft. Belvoir, and even some that commute all the way to Maryland with the Air Force! We are so grateful to our military families, and glad to share this great free kid-friendly offer with them!
The pass provides access to more than 2,000 national parks, wildlife refuges and other public lands.
Military personnel can get the passes at any national park or wildlife refuge that charges an entrance fee by showing their military ID. Each family member will also be able to obtain their own pass even if the service member is deployed or if they are traveling separately.
Free passes will be available for activated members of the National Guard and Reserves, but not for military veterans or retirees.
