Lowe's Build and Grow on September 14th

For the rest of us, we get to do the happy dance that all those extra kids went back to school and we get to have places like the library back to ourselves.

Happy Dance. ;)

Here are a couple of my picks for the week.  Note that while the library will be less busy, many of their programs don't pick up again until next week.

Monday-
Go to the pool.  Everything else is closed, including many community centers and all the libraries.

Tuesday-
This isn't on my calendar, but if you haven't yet, make plans with another mom for the first day of school.  Whether it's Starbucks or the day spa, you deserve a little pampering :)

Wednesday-
From 10-12, The Cavalier in Stafford offers a "Roll and Stroll" where your tots can play with their push/ride on toys while you skate.  They can also walk, if they prefer.  Admission is only $3 per child and moms & dads are FREE!

Thursday-
Manassas Baptist has a MOPS meet and greet on Thursday morning at Clareybrook Park.  MOPS is a great organization for connecting with other mothers in the same stage of life as you (namely, raising preschoolers).  Check them out from 10am-12pm.
In the evening, Lake Ridge Moms Club is having an open house from 7:30-8:30pm.  Check out this well-established and organized moms group as an option for you and your child this year.

Friday-
The Manassas Boys and Girls Club has Friday night bounce, and Vertical Rock has a kids night out.  After a week of sitting in school, it might be just what the doctor ordered for cooped up kids!

Saturday-
This week's Home Depot Kids Workshop is a football ring toss.  Register on the "Kids" section of their website.
If Old Bridge Methodist is closer for your MOPS needs, you can join them for a picnic! We would like to welcome all families with children who are in Kindergarten this year or younger and including all pregnant moms to gather with us to find out about our unique MOPS group.  Please come out for food, fellowship and fun.  No need to bring anything but you and your family. Call 571-220-9687 for more info (Angie)
The Stonebridge Movie Series has been extended.  This week, catch "Remember the Titans"

Sunday-
It's WWII Weekend at Rippon Lodge- September 7-8 from 11am-4pm. See military equipment, firing demos, jeeps, home front displays and more. On Sunday, meet Molly from the American Girl Doll Series to learn about life on the homefront from a kids point of view. This is a FREE family event. Please call 703-499-9812 for a complete list of the authors and living history units attending.
Good Shepherd UMC is inviting the community to a morning "blessing of the backpacks" and an afternoon block party.
