Is everyone starting to feel more "in the swing" of things? I hope so!

RSVP for:
Babysitter Training this Saturday from the Park Authority.  Whether you're the parent of a teen, or you want to send your weekend babysitter, I remember this class being very well done when I took it. The American Red Cross helps to develop skills in six critical areas: leadership, safety, safe play, basic care, first aid, and professionalism.  Offered multiple dates.  1 8-hour class, $75 Register online.
Michaels Arts and Crafts will offer several kids classes this weekend. Register online.

Monday, September 16th
Soccer Shots is having a free demo day! Join them for a free class for 2 Year Olds at 9:30 or for the
3-5 Year Olds at 10:00. (Kids Choice Sports 13000 Sport and Health Drive Woodbridge VA)

Not for littles, but appropriate for parents and teens, Erik Estrada will be at St. Thomas United Methodist Church in Manassas, VA in person for the showing of his movie “Finding Faith” (PG-13) about human trafficking. This is a family-friendly event and is open to all in the community. Eric Estrada will sign autographs and answer questions about the timely topic of online safety for young people. Tuesday, September 17th
Doc McStuffins is coming to The Yards Park on September 17th from 10am-4pm. 
From their website:
• Join us for a *FREE family event
• Experience fun Doc activities focused on healthy living & well-being
• Kids can bring their toy for a check-up in Doc's Mobile Clinic
• Upon arrival guests will be provided an hourly time-slot wristband to enter The Doc Mobile, on a first-come first-served basis. A standby option will also be available. This is an outdoor event, so please come prepared for very warm temperatures.

For mommas- the LLL of Woodbridge meeting is 10:30am at Grace Baptist, and HOPE (for infant/pregnancy loss) is at 7pm in Gainesville.  More info on both meetings is on the calendar.

Wednesday, September 18th
For those of you in Triangle/Quantico (or anyone willing to drive) The Courthouse Community Center is Stafford is doing an "Awesome Apples" Nature Explorer day. This fun, hands-on nature program, Nature Explorers, is geared towards young nature lovers.  Discover what makes fall wonderful by using your senses and natural curiosity. Explore this popular fall harvest with a story, song, craft, and snack! Ages 2-5 10am-11am or Ages 5-8 6pm-7pm
$8 resident/$10 non-resident fees are for one child and one adult. Reserve your spot online.

Want to stay on the Woodbridge side of things? Wednesdays in the Park at Lake Ridge Park will have a fishing theme this week: Bring your pre-schooler out for an adventure in the park.  You may register for one or all of the programs.  Parent participation is encouraged but not required.  $10  Reserve your spot online.

Thursday, September 19th
From 10am-11am, it's Kidgits time at Potomac Mills Mall! These events are free, although members who pay a $5 registration fee get a free gift and t-shirt.

Chinn Park Library from 4-5pm isn't even optional.  You all have to come. Avast ye readers and prepare for some swashbuckling good fun on Talk Like a Pirate Day, if ye dare! A free, drop in program for children in 1st grade and up.  (Someone please bring a parrot)

Friday, September 20th
From 9-11 join Fit4Mom PWC for their "Fall into Fitness" Friday, September 20 2013  from 9-11am at Ann Moncure Wall Park.  FREE event will include a Stroller Strides class, special giveaways, great prizes, fun activities and healthy refreshments! The first 20 moms to RSVP will receive a goody bag filled with samples from leading baby product companies such as Plum Organics, .  You will also be entered into a drawing to win some amazing prizes from our favorite local businesses!  Earn extra tickets for the drawing by RSVP'ing online. 

In the evening, it's GEICO's free admission night to the National Children's Museum in Inner Harbor. Enjoy free admission to the museum for your whole family, as well as hands-on activities and interactive play in the NCM theatre and exhibit areas. Sponsored by GEICO.Please note: tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the NCM box office beginning at 5 p.m. on the day of the event. The museum will close for half an hour at 4:30 p.m. to give staff time to prepare for the event. 

Saturday, September 21st
In DC, it's the Big Build Festival at the National Building Museum! Be a builder for the day at the Big Build festival! Amateur builders young and old can discover what it’s like to build a brick wall, carve stone, and much more as they work side-by-side with designers, builders, and artisans demonstrating their skills. Meet plumbers, electricians, ironworkers, landscape architects, woodworkers, and experts in many other fields to learn about their professions and hobbies. In addition to popular exhibitors and our construction vehicle “petting zoo,” the festival goes green this year by showcasing how the building industries are committed to conservation through environmentally friendly practices.

From 11-12, catch an inclusive storytime at Chinn Library for children with special needs and their friends/family. 

From 9:30am-5pm, it's Haymarket Day! All kids activities are free!  Parade starts at 9:30am.  Haymarket Day is a fun day for everyone! (Or so their website says, anyone been?)

Sunday, September 22nd
